Khok Tanote in detail
A short history
Like most of inland Thalang, this was smallholding country — rubber, fruit and small-scale farming — with a village built around it. Residential development arrived as the coastal areas filled and buyers began looking inland for land.
Growth has been piecemeal rather than master-planned, so the housing stock is a mix of older Thai homes and newer individual builds.
The neighbourhood
Quiet lanes, mostly single-storey homes, gardens and a good deal of green between plots. It is a working residential area rather than an expat enclave, which some buyers actively want and others find isolating.
Eating and drinking
Local Thai kitchens and a few roadside spots nearby, with the full range at Boat Avenue ten minutes away. Nothing here is aimed at visitors.
Shopping and everyday errands
Local shops for basics, with supermarkets, hardware and banks around Si Sunthon and Porto de Phuket within ten minutes.
Schools, healthcare and getting around
UWC Thailand is about eight minutes away. Clinics are nearby, hospitals in Phuket Town around thirty minutes. A car is essential.

Yes, if you want quiet and space and are content to drive. It is not an area with a social scene of its own.
Can a foreign buyer own here?
Stock is houses on land, so purchases are typically a registered long lease over the land with ownership of the building, or another lawful structure. There is essentially no condominium stock here.
What about flooding?
Parts of inland Thalang sit low and can hold water in heavy monsoon rain. It is plot-specific and worth a proper check before committing — we look at it as standard.
Will it hold its value?
It tracks the wider Thalang market rather than leading it. The value case is space per baht today rather than rapid appreciation.
Do I need a car?
Yes. There are no footpaths and no useful public transport.
