Why people choose Bluetree
Bluetree is unusual on Phuket in having a single, obvious anchor: a large man-made freshwater lagoon with a water park, beach club, restaurants and events built around it. Homes here are within a few minutes of all of it, which is a proposition that needs very little explaining to a family with children under twelve.
The knock-on effect is rental demand. Holiday tenants with young families choose this pocket deliberately, and owners who let seasonally find occupancy noticeably easier here than in comparable inland addresses.
Where it sits
The area sits inland in Cherngtalay, a few minutes from Boat Avenue and around eight from the sand at Bang Tao. It is close enough to the Cherngtalay strip to use it daily, and far enough back to be quiet at night.

Bluetree in detail
A short history
This is reclaimed inland ground, part of the same belt of former mining and plantation land that became Laguna and Cherngtalay. The lagoon was excavated and engineered rather than found, and the surrounding residential development followed it.
It is one of the newest identifiable neighbourhoods in Thalang, and most of the housing stock dates from the last decade.
The lagoon and the park
The centrepiece is a large freshwater lagoon with a cable wakeboard park, water slides, pools and a sand beach, alongside restaurants, a gym and event space. It runs as a paid-entry attraction with membership options, and it changes what living here feels like day to day.
Eating and drinking
There is a cluster of restaurants and bars at the lagoon itself, and the full spread of Boat Avenue is six minutes away. Local Thai kitchens along the connecting roads cover everyday eating cheaply.
Shopping and everyday errands
Porto de Phuket and Villa Market handle the weekly shop, with the larger stores on the Thep Krasattri road a few minutes further. Nothing here requires a long trip.
Schools, healthcare and getting around
UWC Thailand is about ten minutes away and clinics are close at hand in Cherngtalay, with the major hospitals in Phuket Town around thirty-five minutes. A car is needed, though every daily destination is under fifteen minutes.

How far is the beach?
Around eight minutes to Bang Tao. Close enough for a routine evening swim.
Can a foreign buyer own here?
There is a mix of villas and some condominium stock. Condominium units may be available in foreign freehold where the building still has capacity within its permitted allocation; houses are usually structured as a registered long lease with ownership of the building. We confirm which applies before you commit.
Is there an entry cost to the lagoon?
Yes, it operates as a paid attraction with day tickets and membership options. Some developments negotiate resident rates, which is worth asking about specifically.
Is it noisy?
The park generates daytime activity and occasional evening events. Streets a little further back are quiet; if noise matters to you, position within the pocket is worth being fussy about.
Do I need a car?
Yes, though the distances are short. Everything daily is inside a fifteen-minute radius.
