Boat Avenue

Boat Avenue began as a modest retail row serving the Laguna resorts and the growing residential population behind them. Its growth has been rapid and largely commercial: each expansion added restaurants and services rather than housing.

Porto de Phuket, added later at the northern end, turned it from a strip into a genuine centre with a supermarket, chain retail and covered dining.

The densest concentration of restaurants on this coast: Italian, Japanese, Indian, modern Thai, brunch cafes, wine bars and a great deal of coffee. Standards are high because competition is fierce. On Friday evenings the night market takes over with food stalls and produce.

Villa Market at Porto de Phuket covers the weekly shop, with pharmacies, banks, phone shops, opticians and clinics along the strip. It is the most complete set of services within walking distance anywhere on the west coast.

Bang Tao Beach is a five-minute drive or a fifteen-minute walk, with beach clubs at the southern end and quieter sand to the north. You are close enough to go daily without living with beachfront prices.

UWC Thailand is around ten minutes inland. Clinics and dental practices are on the strip itself, with the major hospitals in Phuket Town about thirty-five minutes away. This is the one address in the area where you could plausibly manage without a car.
