Mangroves, marinas and the quiet eastern shore — where Phuket faces Phang Nga Bay and the boats go out.

Boat owners, and buyers who want land and bay views rather than a beach.
The east coast of Thalang: mangrove shoreline, fishing villages and marinas.
About 30 minutes.
Working and rural. Longtails and pickups, not beach clubs.
Phuket runs a dry season from November to April and a green, wetter monsoon from May to October. It is warm all year - rain arrives in short heavy bursts rather than grey days.
Pa Khlok is the eastern half of Thalang, and it faces a completely different sea. Instead of open Andaman surf there is the sheltered water of Phang Nga Bay, with limestone islands on the horizon and mangrove creeks running inland. It is a working coast — fishing boats, oyster farms, longtails — and it has stayed that way while the west developed.
Buyers come here for two things: land at prices the west coast stopped offering years ago, and the water. With Ao Po and the other marinas close by, this is the practical address for anyone whose life on the island involves a boat.
Pa Khlok runs along the north-eastern shore, taking in Cape Yamu and the villages behind it. Phuket Town is around twenty-five minutes south and the airport thirty minutes north-west; the west coast beaches are a solid half hour away.
The bay in front is the main event, with island-hopping and Phang Nga Bay starting immediately offshore.
Everything we would actually point a client towards — restaurants, beach clubs, schools, clinics, markets and services — mapped and filterable.

Nothing listed under that category here yet.
This coast lived on fishing, rubber and tin long before tourism, and the mangrove shoreline meant the resort boom simply went elsewhere. Villages here still function as villages.
Change has come through the marinas and through Cape Yamu at the northern end, but density remains low and much of the shoreline is protected mangrove.
Sheltered bay rather than beach: mangroves, tidal flats and calm water year-round. Swimming from the shore is not really the point; boating is, and conditions here stay usable through the monsoon when the west coast is rough.
Excellent local seafood in the villages, at prices that would seem impossible on the west coast. Very little international dining — for that you drive to Phuket Town or across the island.
Local shops and markets cover the basics. Full supermarkets are towards Phuket Town or Si Sunthon, twenty to twenty-five minutes away.
UWC Thailand is about twenty minutes; other international schools are towards Phuket Town. Hospitals are around twenty-five minutes. A car is essential.
When the monsoon closes west-coast beaches, this water stays flat — which is why the marinas are here.
Much of the shoreline is conserved mangrove, which caps development and keeps the coast intact.
The limestone islands most visitors take a day trip to see start a short cruise from here.
Not in the west-coast sense. The shore is mangrove and tidal flat. People here swim in pools and use the bay by boat.
Land value, calm water year-round, marina access and genuine quiet. It suits boat owners and people who want space more than nightlife.
Almost entirely land and houses, so purchases are typically a registered long lease over the land with ownership of the building, or another lawful structure. Condominium stock is minimal.
Twenty-five minutes to Phuket Town, thirty to the airport, thirty or more to the west coast beaches. It is a commitment.
Less so than the west coast — holiday demand here is thinner. It is better suited to owner-occupiers and long-term lets.
Yes, without question.
